Oh, and another thing....
My wife gave birth to our second child last Tuesday (8th April). It's a boy! Rory Daniel is a baby brother for Matilda. This is part of the reason why I haven't had much chance to iron out the site issues.
Damn you Network Solutions!
OK, the new host and the data is OK, I'm just waiting on Network Solutions to update my account details for the SF-Books.com domain. Never register a domain with Network Solutions! They are impossible to deal with. I've been thinking about registering another domain name to use in the meantime with new host, just so I can get the site up and running again whilst we wait for NS to get their act together. If anyone wants to suggest a new name for the site I'm all ears.

new host!
Ok, things are moving along nicely at the moment. I have retrieved all the data from the old host, and selected a new host (quadrahosting.com.au). Once I sort out some details with the domain name I'll be able to upload the site to the new host and see if she works. This new host will be a lot faster for our US members, as the servers are located in the USA (previously they were in Australia).
As a bonus, I intend to make a whole new forum on the new host, so we won't be stuck using Forumer anymore with it's thread splitting shenanigans.
Viva sf-books!

Sf-books.com is down!
Hi folks, I started this blog to let you all know what is happening with SF-Books.com. Today I got an email from my host telling me that my account has been cancelled for non-payment. What they didn't tell me was that the name of their company recently changed so these emails were congregating in my spam folder. anyway, no matter. I've been meaning to change hosts for quite a while now and this is the perfect opportunity to do it. So now I've just got to retrieve my files, select a new host, and upload the site. Easy right? Hopefully the site will be up again in a few days. I'll keep you all informed via this blog. (hopefully site members will Google SF-books.com and come here when they realise the site is down...!)
thanks,
Simon
